Six arrested for cheating more than 130 million

Kathmandu: Nepal Police on Tuesday arrested six proprietors of Kalanki Trade Centre on the charge of cheating more than Rs 130 million from different individuals in the name of providing them shutters (space for shops) at the Centre.

Those arrested are Shanti Raman Pangeni (61) of Syangja, Narendra Bajracharya (68), Raju Maharjan (51) of Kathmandu, Rajesh Krishna Shrestha (62) of Lalitpur, Niranjan Kumar Shrestha (53) of Palpa, and Chiranjivi Poudel (59) of Kaski. 

A team from Kathmandu District Police Range arrested six men on the charge of cheating and made them public today.

The Spokesperson of the Range, Nabaraj Adhikari, said they were arrested as they had cheated the people by saying they would hand over these business shutters that are being constructed at the Kalanki Trade Centre by Kalanki Developers and Mila Land Development Pvt Ltd. 

Further investigation into the case is underway, added Adhikari.
