Woman swept away by floods

A woman has died in Gauriganga Municipality due to floods in Kailali. 

According to the District Police Office, 20-year-old Sushmita Chaudhary of Gauriganga Municipality-11 was swept away by the flooded Kataini River. 

Meanwhile, the Bhajani Municipality of Kailali has been submerged after the flood water from Kandra and Karasa rivers entered the town. All the wards in Bhajani are submerged by flood water, Mayor Kewal Chaudhary confirmed.

He said that more than 3,000 houses were inundated. Bhajani Municipality falls under the influence of the Mohana, Pathraiya, Kandra, and Kora rivers. 

Due to the floods triggered by continuous rainfall 200 houses in Bhitaria of Joshipur Rural Municipality-3 have been inundated. 

Similarly, after the continuous rains, families and their belongings in Kailari Rural Municipality-7 Rampur, which are at high risk of flooding. have been moved to higher ground, police said.
