‘Why go Europe? Go to Nepal:’  Indian filmmaker’s nice words earn praises in Kathmandu

‘It was such a joyful trip. I really wanted to extend it. But I will be back sooner than you realize,’ Shekhar Kapur wrote.

Kathmandu: Renowned Indian filmmaker Shekhar Kapur praised the beauty of Nepal and said that he would come to Nepal more often than in the past. Posting the picture of Bhaktapur on his social media page during his recent visit, he wrote: “Coming to Nepal after so many years. Had forgotten how beautiful and spiritual this land is. I had travelled here for my first film as an actor, and the country was is etched in my mind then.” “Why go to Europe? Going to come to #Nepal more often.”

“I shared similar feelings when travelled by road during my 12 days trip to Nepal last year in June vacation. So many places to be quoted for its serenity but the road trip from Pokhara to Muktinath is a must and then a night stay in Jomsom is truly mandatory,”  Swarupama Chaturvedi, senior advocate designated by the Supreme Court of India, joined the conversation.

Several others wished for better stay, while many Nepalis welcomed him on through social media.

Actress Manisha Koirala hosted him at her home. “Incidentally it was Shekhar who had first signed me for a film but somehow it didn’t work out. I hold Shekhar very close to my heart. He has always been a dear friend. I adore my time talking to him,” she wrote on her social media page.

“It was such a joyful trip. I really wanted to extend it. But I will be back sooner than you realize,” he responded.
