Two motorcycles collide head-on in Morang, two die

Kathmandu: A head-on collision between two motorcycles near Urlabari Municipality-3 along the East-West Highway in Morang on Tuesday claimed two lives.

The incident involved two motorcycles: one traveling east (Province 1-02-050 PA 8406) and the other heading west (Province 1-02-043 PA 9226). According to the Area Police Office in Urlabari, both vehicles were traveling at high speeds, which led to the collision.

The victims have been identified as 33-year-old Deepak Dhimal from Pathari Shanishchare Municipality-5 and 28-year-old Kishor Gurung from Kanepokhari Rural Municipality-4. Dhimal succumbed to his injuries at Araniko Hospital in Urlabari, while Gurung passed away during treatment at Madan Bhandari Hospital Trauma Center.

Two others sustained injuries in the crash: 26-year-old Amrit Limbu from Kanepokhari-4 and 38-year-old Bishnu Dhimal from Pathari Shanishchare-5. Both were rushed to B&C Hospital in Birtamod, Jhapa, for further medical care.

Police said that the excessive speed of both motorcycles caused the riders to lose control, resulting in head-on collision.
