Bara: Save the Children, under the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) funded INSPIRE project, organized a Technology Demonstration Event at Shree Gadhimai Mahendra Technical Model Secondary School in Bara to promote digital literacy and EdTech-based learning. The event aimed to motivate teachers and students to embrace technology-enabled learning and strengthen overall education outcomes.
The event showcased interactive tech booths from three leading tech groups: Smart Cheli, the Robotics Association of Nepal, and Karkhana. Students, teachers, and local government representatives explored DIY drones, robots, cars, robotic arms, and other electronic innovations. Participants engaged with experts to understand how tech-infused education can support more equitable and future-ready learning opportunities for children.
Sachin Sapkota, Technology for Development Advisor at Save the Children, said: “Digital exclusion is stark, with only 25 percent of schools in Madhesh Province having internet access and just 36% of schools up to Grade 8 equipped with computers. INSPIRE is bridging this gap through digital literacy and EdTech solutions. Through this event, we hope to spark curiosity and encourage students to explore technology as a powerful tool for learning.”
Upendra Prasad Yadav, Mayor of Gadhimai Municipality, added: “There is no doubt that tech-enabled learning is the future of education. Such demonstrations promote technology-friendly education, attract youths toward technology. With the introduction of new technologies, we are confident that Madhesh Province can transform the way children learn.”
Launched in 2025, the five-year INSPIRE project aims to enhance basic education and job readiness by introducing digital tools and interventions in Mahagadhimai Municipality, Karaiyamai and Devtal Rural Municipalities in Bara, and Aurahi and Loharpatti Municipalities in Mahottari. The project is implemented in partnership with Jan Jagaran Youth Club and the Community Development and Advocacy Forum Nepal.
