One killed in elephant attack in Kanchanpur

Kanchanpur: A 24-year-old man was killed in an elephant attack in Belauri Municipality-5, Mainaha, Kanchanpur on Tuesday night. 

The victim, identified as Umesh Chaudhary of Ward No. 6, Dhakka Chandar, was attacked while he was returning home, according to the Kanchanpur District Police Office.

The incident occurred at midnight as Umesh and two of his friends, Roshan Chaudhary and Navin Chaudhary, were returning home on a motorcycle after attending a Sakhia dance performance. 

The attack took place in the Pushpalal Smriti Community Forest, where the elephant attacked Umesh. His friends managed to escape unharmed.
