Niranjan Kunwar takes charge as Chief Technology and Security Officer at Genese Solution

London: Niranjan Kunwar, a distinguished leader in global technology and cybersecurity, has officially stepped into the role of Chief Technology and Security Officer at Genese Solutions, a UK based value IT consulting company. 

With a 25-year long career that spans financial services, technology, telecom, and manufacturing, Niranjan is renowned for his ability to tackle complex business challenges head-on. 

His strategic vision for leveraging technology not only fuels innovation and growth but also fortifies defences against ever-evolving cybersecurity threats. This bold appointment marks a pivotal moment for Genese Solutions as they gear up to revolutionise the industry landscape!

Prior to joining Genese Solution, Niranjan served as Senior Director of Information Security at Vontier where he led the security strategy, security programme, security architecture and product security from 2021 to 2024. 

Before that he was the Global Head of Application and Infrastructure Assurance at Invesco from 2016 to 2021. During his long career, Niranjan has held leading roles in technical and security functions in global companies like McAfee, Polycom, Mimecast, Reliance Globalcom, Shipserv, Covestor, Internet Solutions Ltd and Himalayan Computers.

Niranjan holds an Executive MBA degree from The Quantic School of Business and Technology, an MSc IT degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Post Graduate diploma in computer engineering from the Institute of Qualification Improvement. He also holds an MSc degree in Radio Communications, Radio Broadcasting and Television from St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications.

Niranjan also holds several widely respected certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information System Security Professional), SABSA Chartered Security Architect (SCF), CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (SAA), and CCNP Security.

Born and raised in Pokhara, Nepal, Niranjan completed his primary and secondary education in Nepal. He went to Russia for higher education, where he spent 6 years. He moved to Hong Kong to pursue professional opportunities, residing there for 8 years. Niranjan has been living and working in London for the last 17 years with his wife, 2 kids and a dog. He speaks English, Russian, Hindi and Nepali. An avid hiker and runner, he also enjoys relaxing and rejuvenating activities like meditation, yoga, reading, and watching movies.

“After spending 25 years in global corporations, I was seeking a new challenge that would allow me to leverage my experience and make a meaningful impact. I was exploring different options of opening my own business, investing and partnering with existing businesses vs taking another global corporate leadership role,” said Niranjan Kunwar, newly appointed CTO of Genese Solution, adding, “I also wanted to connect back to my roots in Nepal. Give back, create opportunities, wealth and prosperity for broader communities in Nepal. In that process I met Mr Anjani Phuyal, got to know him personally, and learn about Genese Solution. I was particularly drawn to their mission of empowering organisations with innovative technology solutions.”
