Nepali man arrested for attempted robbery with Machete in Douglas County

Douglas County, Nebraska: The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of a 21-year-old man on Sunday morning after he allegedly attempted to rob a home with a machete.

Deputies responded to a residence near N 88th and Baker streets around 5:50 a.m. following a report of a robbery. The suspect, identified as Sajin Gurung, reportedly tried to enter the home while wielding a machete, causing significant damage to the front door and issuing death threats.

Through interviews and evidence collection, deputies identified Gurung as the suspect. He was subsequently located and arrested without incident. Gurung is facing charges including terroristic threats, use of a weapon to commit a felony, and criminal mischief.
