Kathmandu: The meeting of the National Assembly (NA) has been postponed until tomorrow.

The meeting of the upper house of the Federal Parliament, scheduled for 1:15 pm today, was deferred to 3:15 pm.

The Federal Parliament Secretariat’s assistant spokesperson, Dasharath Dhamala, said  that the meeting has been postponed to tomorrow as it could not convene at the stipulated time for the second time as well.

The main opposition party in the parliament, the Nepali Congress, has been calling for the formation of a parliamentary investigation committee to probe the misappropriation of funds of various cooperatives. Although the opposition and ruling parties have agreed on forming the probe committee, its terms of reference (TOR) are yet to be finalized.

The opposition and ruling parties have been in consultations since this morning to finalize the TOR, but the matter has not been resolved yet.

In the upper house meeting today, NA Chair Narayana Prasad Dahal was scheduled to inform the assembly about a letter received from the Office of the President regarding the appointment of ministers and ministers of state, and the allocation of portfolios to them.
