Narayangadh-Butwal completely disrupted

Kathmandu: The Narayanghat–Butwal road section along the East-West Highway has been completely disrupted again.

According to Nawalpur Police, a landslide occurred on Tuesday night, adding debris to a road already under repair since Tuesday afternoon.

Despite ongoing repair work throughout Tuesday, it remained incomplete, and one-way traffic was temporarily allowed, with plans to resume repairs on Wednesday morning.

The highway has been entirely blocked since 4:45 AM on Wednesday due to the landslide debris, said police.

Previously, one-way traffic had resumed at 5 PM on Monday after the sunken road was partially repaired. However, further sinking led to a complete traffic disruption by 8:30 AM on Tuesday. The repair work, initially expected to be completed by Wednesday, was delayed due to the overload, and the one-way traffic was reinstated.
