Kathmandu: Monsoon is currently effective in five provinces of the country, according to meteorologists.

The monsoon entered from Koshi province has spread to most of Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces and the eastern regions of Lumbini. The influence of westerly and local winds is minimal in the remaining provinces.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division, due to the influence of monsoon and westerly winds the weather is completely cloudy in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali this morning, while partially cloudy in the rest of the country.

The daily bulletin issued by the division this morning says that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, a few places in Koshi and Madhesh and one or two places in the remaining parts of the country.

Later tonight, the weather will remain generally cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and partly cloudy to mostly clear in the remaining parts of the country.
