Kathmandu metropolis gives RB Complex and People’s Plaza 35 days to clear taxes

RB Complex remains delinquent in settling rental and property tax payments until now, while People’s Plaza has to settle rental taxes for the last three years.

Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has initiated stringent measures against long-standing tax evaders, RB Complex and People’s Plaza located in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-22.

The Kathmandu Metropolitan Revenue Department has issued an ultimatum, demanding the settlement of all outstanding dues within 35 days.

RB Complex remains delinquent in settling rental and property tax payments until now, while People’s Plaza has to settle rental taxes for the last three years.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City levies a 10 percent rental tax on the revenue generated from property rentals.

Dhruba Kafle, the head of the Kathmandu Metropolitan Revenue Department, said the ultimatum has been issued as these two complexes have been reluctant to clear taxes for a long time. “The City office conducted a field inspection, following which the ultimatum has been issued,” he said.

There are 315 businesses operating in RB Complex and 160 in People’s Plaza.
