IIN signs MoU with SOMTU to launch Postgraduate Diploma Course in Sustainable Business Management

Kathmandu: Invest for Impact Nepal (IIN) and the School of Management, Tribhuvan University (SOMTU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch a Postgraduate Diploma Course in Sustainable Business Management on Tuesday.

According to a press statement, the program follows the principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and is aimed to be launched in November 2024.

According to the organizers, this is a long-awaited program aimed at building local capacity in sustainable business management practices for all sectors of the economy. “The main objective of this course is to go beyond promoting entrepreneurship and business in the country. This program will help Nepali businesses and people to run sustainable businesses while contributing to society, the national economy, and international-level long-term businesses. This multifaceted program covers economic, environmental, social, and governance issues for sustainable development,” said Prof. Dr. Dilli Raj Sharma, Dean of the Faculty of Management at TU.

“This program builds on the partnership with Universitat Pompeu Fabra – UPF Barcelona School of Management (UPF-BSM) and IIN that was instrumental in delivering the Certified Course on ESG for banking professionals in partnership with Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA).”

“This partnership is to support the collaboration between UPF-BSM and SOMTU to develop curriculum, build faculty capacity, and assure academic excellence. The partnership is a significant milestone in advancing sustainable business education and practices in Nepal,” read the statement.
