Himalaya Airlines to operate Pokhara-Lhasa flight from March 31

Kathmandu: Himalaya Airlines is set to operate first commercial flights from Pokhara International Airport two years after the operation of the airport. It is going to operate the flight to Lhasa of China from March 31. Issuing a press release, the Himalaya Airlines informed about the flights to be operated connecting Kathmandu-Lhasa-Pokhara-Kathmandu. A schedule has been determined in order to operate flight once a week to connect Pokhara with Lhasa. The Airlines has already acquired flight permission with Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) for flight to Lhasa.

According to Information Officer of CAAN, Gyanendra Bhul, the Airlines has asked for flight permission in order to operate first ‘schedule flight’ in Lhasa. Similarly, Sichuan Airlines of China has made preparation to operate Pokhara-Chengdu commercial flight once a week from March 18. However, flight permission from CAAN has not been received. Pokhara and ‘Roof of the World, Lhasa are going to expand aviation contact network. It is believed that the number of Chinese tourists in Nepal. The Himalaya Airlines has been operating five flights in a week from Kathmandu.
