Government to pick NAC GM through open competition

Kathmandu: A committee coordinated by Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hari Prasad Mainali, has been formed to recommend a competent candidate as the new General Manager of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) through an open competition. According to the Prime Minister’s press coordinator, Ram Bahadur Rawal, the decision was made by Prime Minister Sushila Karki who also takes the charge of the Ministry. Captain Kul Bahadur Limbu has been appointed as the expert member on the committee. The committee is to recommend a candidate for the appointment within one month. Until the new appointment is made, NAC’s senior‑most employee, Deputy Director General Janakraj Kalakheti, will act as the Acting General Manager. Similarly, the NAC Board of Directors’ Vice Chair, Bikram Rai, will serve as the Board Chair until further provision is made, said Ministry spokesperson Ramkrishna Lamichhane.
