Four-vehicle collision in Sitapaila leaves motorcyclist injured

Kathmandu: A four-vehicle collision occurred near Sitapaila Chowk on Tuesday at around 11:30 AM, involving a bus, motorcycle, car, and pickup van, according to Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.

The accident occured when a motorcycle (Ba. Pra 02 034 Pa 4302) attempted to overtake a car (Ba 16 Cha 6337), causing the car to brake suddenly. At that moment, a passenger bus bearing registration number Ba 4 Kha 8972, following closely behind, collided with the car, pushing the motorcycle under the car’s tire. The car then struck the pickup van (Ba 10 Cha 8775) coming from the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist, 50-year-old Hark Bahadur Khadka of Sidingba Rural Municipality-4, Taplejung, who currently resides in Kalanki, was injured in the crash. He has been taken to Manmohan Hospital for treatment. 

Other passengers involved in the accident were unharmed, though the vehicles sustained significant damage.

All four vehicles have been taken under control by the Swayambhu Police Circle for further investigation. Preliminary police findings found that the bus driver failed to maintain a safe distance, leading to the crash.
