Foreign tourists arrivals increase by 21 pc in seven months

Kathmandu: The arrival of foreign tourists to the country has increased by 21.22 percent in the seven months of 2024. 

According to the information shared by Nepal Tourism Board, as many as 647,615 foreign tourists came to Nepal until July this year as compared to July last year when 534,207 tourists visited the country.

In January of this year, 79,100 foreign tourists entered the country while, in February the number was 97,426, 128,000 in March, 100,067, 111,376 in April, and 90,211 in May. 

Likewise, 76,736 tourists visited Nepal in June and 64,599 tourists in July. The arrival of foreign tourists in July 2024 has increased by nearly 12 percent.

According to the statistics provided by the Board, foreign tourist arrivals have increased by 11.9 percent in the same period of this year compared to July of last year. In July of this year, 64,599 foreign tourists arrived, while the number was 75,726 during the same period last year. 

According to the board, 44,462 tourists came to Nepal in July 2022, 3,633 in 2021, and 196 tourists in 2020.

In July 2019, 70,916 foreign tourists arrived in Nepal before the start of the Corona pandemic.
