Flood washes away bailey bridge, Mechi Highway obstructed

Panchthar: A flood in Hewa rivulet has swept away a Bailey bridge along the Mechi Highway following the incessant rainfall.

The Chairperson of Phidim Municipality-4, Upendra Lawati, said the flood washed away the Bailey Bridge for the second time.

The bridge was constructed in the district after the flood on the rivulet swept away the bridge on June 17, 2023. Mechi Highway has been completely obstructed. 

After the obstruction, road connectivity at Hilihang Rural Municipality and Yangwarak Rural Municipality of Panchthar district and Taplejung districts has been disconnected.
