Elephant calf found dead in Morang

Belbari (Morang): An elephant calf was found dead in Belbari-3 on Tuesday morning in Morang district. The four-year-old calf was discovered in the private forest belonging to locals Anita Thapa and Rekha Thapa, according to Yogendra Prasad Subedi, the chairperson of Belbari Municipality-3.

A team from the Sub-Division Forest Office in Belbari, the Area Police Office in Belbari, and the Armed Police Force Basecamp in Laxmimarg arrived at the scene and began collecting details, according to Hemant Parajuli, the Acting Chief of the Division Forest Office.

The cause of the calf’s death remains unknown.
