Kathmandu: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been stabbed by an intruder during a burglary attempt at around 2:30 am in his Bandra home in Mumbai.
According to Indian media reports, he was stabbed “six times” by the intruder. Two stab wounds on his neck and close to spine are deep.
He was reportedly stabbed while confronting the thief, who was arguing with the maid, who had caught the thief first. The Omkara actor tried calming the situation when the thief attacked him. After the noise alarmed other family members, the thief fled the scene.
Khan was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital. He is undergoing surgery to treat the stab wounds.
Releasing a statement, the actor’s team stated, “There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation.”
Similarly, his family also released a statement regarding the incident: “There was an attempted burglary in Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khans residence last night. Saif had an injury on his arm for which is in hospital, undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is doing fine. We request media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the Police is already doing their due investigations. Thank you all for your concern.”
