Kathmandu: Authorities have recovered the bodies of five people from the Saurya Airlines aircraft crash site at Tribhuvan International Airport. The rescue team has transferred Captain Manish Shakya, 37, to Sinamangal-based KMC Hospital.

The accident occurred during takeoff at 11:15 AM as the flight was departing for Pokhara from Kathmandu. Although there were no passengers on board, the plane was carrying a few technical staff members from the airline.

The aircraft, with the call sign 9N-AME CRJ 200, had 19 people on board. According to police, the recovered bodies have been sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
