Kathmandu: The scheduled meeting of the House of Representatives for 11:00 AM today has been postponed to 4:00 PM as efforts are underway to resolve the ongoing parliamentary deadlock.

The decision followed a telephonic conversation between Speaker Devraj Ghimire and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, according to Speaker Ghimire’s Press Coordinator, Shekhar Adhikari.

Prime Minister Dahal requested the postponement, citing ongoing efforts to reach a consensus with the main opposition party, the Nepali Congress.

The Nepali Congress has been obstructing parliamentary proceedings, demanding the formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate allegations of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane involvement in the misappropriation of cooperatives funds.
