Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress continued to obstruct the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, demanding a house panel to investigate allegations against Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.
The largest party in the lower house obstructed a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly after President Ram Chandra Paudel presented the government’s policies and programs.
Lawmakers from the Congress chanted slogans and picketed the rostrum before Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ was scheduled to table copies of the policies and programs presented by the president. Similarly, the Speaker and the National Assembly chair were also scheduled to table a motion thanking the President.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire adjourned the meeting until Thursday.
According to the Nepali Congress, it will continue to obstruct the house until the government forms a house panel to probe allegations against Lamichhane.
