Nepal Budget 2025/26: Total of 1.96411 trillion rupees for the fiscal year

Kathmandu: The coalition government of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML announced the budget of Rs 1.96411 trillion for the fiscal year 2025/26. Presenting the budget speech in federal parliament on Thursday, Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel said Rs 1.180 trillion has been allocated for recurrent expenditure. Rs 407 billion has been allocated for capital expenditure and Rs 375.24 for financial management including debt servicing.

The government has projected an economic growth rate of 6 percent in the fiscal year. Paudel said that the government’s annual policy and programs and the budget’s programs announced for the upcoming fiscal year would contribute to achieve the target of 6 per cent of economic growth rate. He also said that inflation would be maintained at 5.5 percent in the upcoming fiscal year.
