Kathmandu: Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) is organizing First Prabhakar SJB Rana Memorial Lecture in Kathmandu on Sunday to celebrate legacy and contribution of Rana to the economy and nation. Rana, who passed away in 2019, was the founder President of NICCI and had a long range of business and social institutions including with Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN), Independent Power Producers’ Association, Nepal (IPPAN), PATA Nepal Chapter, Nepal Heritage Society among others.
“NICCI is honored to remember Mr. Rana as a visionary leader, entrepreneur, and trailblazer in Nepal’s overall business, hospitality sector, industry and hydropower,” Sunil KC, the president of NICCI said.
Industry Minister Damodar Bhandari will be the Chief Guest and Energy Minister Deepak Khadka will be the Guest of Honor of the program. Executive Director at International Monetary Fund (IMF) and former Chief Economic Advisor to the government of India Dr Krishnamurthy Venkata Subramanian has been invited as key note speaker.
Siddhartha SJB Rana, the son of Prabhakar SJB Rana and the Chairman of Tara Management Pvt Ltd the parent organization of SIPRADI Trading will also be delivering his remarks. NICCI is also launching a Book “Business Climate Survey for Indian Companies in Nepal, 2024” in the event.
