Kathmandu: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India deeply cherishes the historical bonds of the friendship between the people of India and Nepal.  Responding to PM Oli’s message of congratulation to his Indian counterpart and Indian people posted on X early on Sunday on the occasion of 76th Republic Day of India, Modi has said that India-Nepal relations will continue to grow in the days to come. “We also deeply cherish the historical bonds of the friendship between the people of our two nations. I am confident it will continue to grow in times to come,” Modi wrote in reply to Nepal PM’s post.

Prime Minister Oli had extended “warmest congratulations” to Modi and people of India on the occasion of Republic Day of India Sunday morning. “May the ideals of democracy and national unity flourish evermore, fostering deeper ties of friendship between our two nations,” Oli wrote.

Modi also reciprocated the congratulations message extended by Nepali Congress president and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. “Nepal and India share a time-honored bond of friendship, rooted in shared history and values. Wishing you continued progress, prosperity, and success,” had written in his post on X. “May the age-old ties of friendship between our people continue to flourish and grow stronger,” Modi wrote on Deuba’s post.

India marked its 76th Republic Day on Sunday. In Kathmandu, Indian embassy celebrated the occasion by organizing different programs.
