Nepal to participate in ninth Asian Winter Games

Kathmandu: Nepal will participate in the ninth Asian Winter Games that is scheduled  to take place in Harbin city of China in February, Nepal Olympic Committee officials said. 

According to the Nepal Olympic Committee, a five-member team—two boys and two girls accompanied by a coach–will attend the Winter Games in China in February. They will represent Nepal in the Alpine Ski event.  “The players are receiving necessary training at the moment. Some of them have already earned medals for the country in Asian games,” said Sujan Lal Shrestha, Executive Secretary of Nepal Olympic Committee. According to him, Laxmi Rai and Debora Timalsina will be playing from the girls’ category whereas Saphal Ram Shrestha and Chhowang Mingyur Tamang will be playing from the boys’ category.
