KOICA to provide nine million USD to construct technical school

Lekhnath (Kaski): The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is to provide financial assistance to construct a technical school in Gandaki Province. An agreement was signed between KOICA and Gandaki province government on Friday at the office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Pokhara, to this effect. Secretary at the Social Development Ministry of Gandaki Province, Rajendra Dev Pandey, and Country Director of KOICA Office, Nepal, Mooheon Kong, signed the agreement. KOICA would provide nine million US dollar assistance under the project. The project would run for five years. On the occasion, Chief Minister of Gandaki province government Surendra Raj Pandey, expressed happiness for KOICA’s financial support for infrastructure development project of Gandaki Technical Institute, expressing the belief that activities related to project would be completed within the deadline. Lauding the bilateral collaboration between Nepal and South Korea, he shared that the project would help produce skilled human resources for the economic prosperity of Nepal. Expressing the belief that the project would help provide access to quality technical education to youth, women and underprivileged people, Kong said he was happy for getting opportunity to work in Gandaki Province.
