12 rhinos found dead in five months: CNP

Chitwan: As many as twelve rhinos were found dead in the Chitwan National Park (CNP) and its buffer zone in the last five months of the current fiscal year 2024/25.

According to Avinash Thapa Magar, Information Officer at the CNP, among those found dead, four were male and five were female while the number of rhinos with unidentified sex stood at three in this period. Likewise, a tiger was found dead during the same period.

The wild cat of around six years lost its life to fight with another tiger at Nandapurghat in Amaltari area in the district, added Magar.

Similarly, two people died and four sustained injuries in rhino attack in the last five months.
