Kathmandu: Dr Govinda KC, a campaigner for medical education reform, has started a hunger strike demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, among other demands.
Dr KC has placed the demand for the resignation of Prime Minister ‘Prachanda’ in the context of his involvement in human rights violations during the armed conflict and war crimes. He has also demanded an impartial and expedited justice process during the transitional period to ensure justice for the victims.
This marks the 22nd time Dr KC has resorted to a hunger strike.
Dr KC has initiated the hunger strike on the premises of the Pashupatinath Temple.
Dr KC’s other demands include quality healthcare and free medication for all Nepalis, as well as implementation of agreements made by the government with him at various times.
