US assistant secretary of state visiting Nepal this week

Washington, D.C. (USA): The US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Donald Lu, is set to arrive in Nepal this week as part of his South Asia visit.

According to the US Department of State, Assistant Secretary Lu will meet with Nepal’s top leadership to discuss key areas of collaboration, including environmental conservation, women’s empowerment, and sustainable development. Additionally, the visit aims to strengthen Nepal-US bilateral ties and explore avenues for cultural heritage preservation.

Lu’s regional trip commenced today, covering Sri Lanka, India, and Nepal. 

The discussions in Nepal will align with the broader US goals of enhancing regional cooperation, promoting sustainable growth, and supporting democratic values.
