Kaski court remands Rabi Lamichhane in custody for another 10 days

Kathmandu: Kaski District Court has remanded Rabi Lamichhane, chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, for ten days to facilitate further investigations into allegations of cooperative embezzlement and organized crime.

Judge Chandra Kanta Paudel granted the police’s request to keep Lamichhane, former deputy prime minister and home minister, in custody. 

He was arrested on October 18 at his party office in Kathmandu.

Lamichhane is accused, along with several others, of misappropriating funds from the Suryadarshan Savings and Credit Cooperative based in Pokhara.
