Nepal clinch six-wicket win over England

Kathmandu: Nepal have defeated England by six wickets in the first match of the Hong Kong Sixes tournament played at Mong Kok, Hong Kong today.

Nepal, who were chasing a victory target of 98 runs, met the target in 4.2 overs without losing any wicket. Captain Sandeep Jora made the highest number of 50 runs for Nepal. He hit six sixes and four fours off 12 balls. Similarly, Lokesh Bam made 20 runs with the help of two sixes and one boundary in 11 balls.

Rashid Khan made 21 runs including two sixes and two fours in five balls. England, who batted first after losing the toss, made 97 runs in 5.5 overs, losing six wickets. England skipper Ravi Bopara collected 49 runs with the help of one four and seven sixes off 12 balls. Smith Patel made 39 runs, including three fours and three sixes, in 17 balls.

Nepal’s Pratish GC took two wickets while Narayan Joshi, Lokesh Bam and Bibek Yadav each took one wicket. Nepal are in Group B alongside England and Australia and will face Australia on Saturday.

The Hong Kong Cricket Sixes is a six-a-side international cricket tournament. Nepal are participating in the tournament for the first time.
