Lamichhane, Joshi presented before Kaski District Court

Gandaki: Former Home Minister and President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Ravi Lamichhane and former Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Chhabilal Joshi have been brought before the District Court, Kaski today.

Basant Kumar Sharma, Police Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office Kaski informed that they were brought to court.

Lamichhane was arrested from Kathmandu on Friday and brought to Pokhara in connection with the case related to cooperative fraud and organized crime.

Lamichhane’s six days remanded custody was extended on Sunday for further investigation. Lamichhane was brought before the court again today after the first term expired. Former DIG Joshi is in police custody in course of the investigation in the same cooperative fraud case.

In Pokhara, the security arrangements have been tightened as the supporters of Lamichhane as well as the co-operative victims are continuing their separate demonstrations.
