Two killed in jeep accident in Humla

The jeep’s gearbox had malfunctioned, and while it was stopped for repairs, it suddenly reversed and plunged 300 meters down the hillside. 

Humla: A Bolero jeep accident at Puima in Tanjakot Rural Municipality-2 in Humla claimed the lives of two individuals on Saturday. 

The deceased have been identified as Bishnu Pariyar, 49, of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-20, Ranjha, Banke, and Abhishek Budha, 5, of Chankheli Rural Municipality-6, Humla. Budha was traveling with Pariyar to Nepalgunj to celebrate Dashain at his maternal uncle’s home.

The jeep, bearing license plate number Lu 1 Ja 3043, was en route from Surkegad Bazaar, Sarkegad Rural Municipality, to Bajura when it veered off the road.

According to police, the jeep’s gearbox had malfunctioned, and while it was stopped for repairs, it suddenly reversed and plunged 300 meters down the hillside. 

Seven people were traveling in the jeep, including the driver. Five passengers had exited the vehicle due to the gearbox issue, but the two victims remained inside when the accident occurred. The police are conducting further investigations.
