Kathmandu Metro springs into action in rescue efforts (in pictures)

Kathmandu: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has mobilized of its metro police personnel for the rescue of the people who are entrapped in various places because of floods caused by nonstop rain that wreaked havoc across the country for the last two days.

Earlier today, KMC Mayor Balen Shah informed through his social media page that total of 17 KMC police teams, comprising 300 personnel including officers and constables, have been mobilized for the rescue efforts and other works of disaster management.

KMC has also arranged free ambulance service for those who need to go to hospital immediately. They can dial 102, Mayor Shah mentioned on the notice.  “It is every citizen’s duty in times of such disaster to save oneself and one’s family and to save those who are in difficulty,” the mayor said.
