Jumla: The landslide triggered by the incessant rainfall has blocked the Karnali Highway last night.

As a result, the Highway remains completely blocked for traffic due to the mudslip that took place at Ismod and Gaganekhola located in Shubhkalika Rural Municipality-1 of Kalikot under the Surkhet-Jumla road of the highway.

Efforts are being made to remove the landslide debris and resume traffic on the blocked section of the highway, said information officer of the Road Division Office, Bir Bahadur GT.

The road section has been blocked several times this monsoon due to repeated landslides in Gaganekhola.

Meanwhile, passengers traveling from Jumla, Kalikot, and Mugu to Surkhet, Nepalgunj, and Kathmandu remain stranded due to the landslide blocking the road.
