Buffalo kills a tiger in Makawanpur

Bharatpur: A domestic buffalo owned by a farmer in Manahari, Makawanpur has killed a tiger.

The buffalo, belonging to Bal Bahadur Rai of Manahari Rural Municipality-6, Pratappur, killed the tiger, which had wandered out of Chitwan National Park (CNP). CNP Information Officer Ganesh Prasad Tiwari said that the tiger was killed this morning in retaliation after attacking the buffalo.

The buffalo sustained injuries from the tiger attack. This is the first such incident reported within the park and its buffer zone. “The deceased tiger appears old and thin, likely venturing out in search of food after struggling to hunt inside the park,” Tiwari said. The tiger’s body has been taken to the National Park for a post-mortem examination.
