Woman killed in Ghattaghar as truck hits scooter during traffic inspection

Kathmandu: An accident occurred in Ghattaghar, Bhaktapur, on Thursday, resulting in the instant death of a woman after a truck collided with her scooter. The scooter, with registration number Ba 49 Pa 8944, had been stopped by traffic police for a routine inspection when the incident happened.

The truck, registered as Na 6 kha 2173, failed to stop in time and struck the stationary scooter. The truck dragged the scooter approximately 20 meters before finally coming to a stop. 

Authorities have not yet confirmed the identity of the deceased woman.

The incident sparked a spontaneous protest at the scene, with enraged locals blocking the road and vandalizing the truck. Authorities are currently working to control the situation.
