One Cover, Liberty College sign pact to establish Cyber Security Help Desk

One Cover and Liberty College signed an agreement during a function with an aim to provide one-stop digital and cybersecurity solutions to students.

Kathmandu: One Cover Private Limited, a dedicated cybersecurity company, and Liberty College on Tuesday (August 6) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a Cyber Security Help Desk at Liberty College, which is owned and managed solely by Global College.

The collaboration between One Cover and Liberty College aims to enhance cybersecurity awareness, education, and incident management, creating a safer and more informed digital environment for students.

Liberty College, solely owned and managed by Global College, has recently launched IT programs, beginning with Bachelor of Computer Systems and Information Technology (BCSIT), affiliated with Pokhara University.

Chiranji Adhikari, Chief Executive Officer at One Cover, and Dr Dev Raj Paneru, Academic Director of Liberty College, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions. The signing ceremony was attended by Executive Director Nava Raj Bhandari, Principal Pradeep Parajuli, Academic Head of IT Dr. Sameer Kharel, and other representatives from Liberty College and One Cover.

Under the agreement, One Cover will establish and operate the Cyber Security Help Desk, staffed by knowledgeable experts who will provide technical expertise and resources for various cybersecurity activities. This team of experts will ensure timely support and resolution of any cybersecurity incidents that may arise.

“This collaboration ensures that technology and vision converge as we aim to provide digital solutions to students through a one-stop service,” said Chiranji Adhikari, Chief Executive Officer at One Cover.

“The partnership aims to empower students with industry-standard cybersecurity training and unconditional support,” said Dr. Dev Raj Paneru, Academic Director of Liberty College.

Likewise, Liberty College will provide the necessary infrastructure and facilities to support the Cyber Security Help Desk and related activities. The college will facilitate the active participation of students, staff, and faculty in all cybersecurity initiatives and will collaborate with One Cover to promote cybersecurity awareness and education throughout the college community.

Through this collaboration, the newly-established Cyber Security Help Desk will offer comprehensive support and guidance on cybersecurity matters to students, staff, and faculty, ensuring everyone at Liberty College has the resources they need to navigate the digital world safely. Likewise, the Help Desk will provide immediate resources and assistance to individuals affected by cybersecurity incidents, ensuring timely and effective responses to mitigate damage.

Similarly, both institutions will conduct itemized workshops on topics such as cyber hygiene, threat detection, incident response, and data protection to enhance the cybersecurity knowledge and skills of students, staff, and faculty.
