112 dead, 2077 injured in Karnali Province road accidents in one year

Surkhet: As many as 112 people were killed in Karnali Province in one year. Of the total 1445 road accidents that occurred across Karnali province in the last fiscal year, 112 people had lost their lives.

According to the Karnali Province Police Office, a total of 959, 130, and 93 vehicle accidents occurred in Surkhet, Salyan, and Rukum West, respectively. Of them, 28 people died in Surkhet, 19 in Salyan, and 23 died in Rukum West.

Karnali has the highest number of motorcycle and scooter accidents. Last year, there were 771 motorcycle and scooter accidents across the province. 165 autorickshaws, 218 jeeps and cars, and 91 tractors have had accidents.

Simialrly, Similarly, seven people died in 48 road accidents in Kalikot last year, five in Jajarkot in 68 accidents, 10 in 70 accidents in Dailekh, and seven in 41 accidents in Jumla. During the review period, there were 12 road accidents in Mugu and 13 in Dolpa.

According to Karnali Province Police Office in Surkhet, 2,777 people have been injured in road accidents during one year. Among the injured, 524 were seriously injured.

According to the police, there have been 70 bus accidents and 69 truck/tanker accidents within a year. Similarly, 27 micro-forces, 15 tippers, 14 dozers, and loaders had accidents.
