Kathmandu: Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu organized a day-long art camp focusing on the theme ‘From Mountains to the Delta’ on its premises in Kathmandu on Monday.
The art camp, according to the embassy, is a part of the weeklong art festival being organized by the Embassy in association with Art Bangla Foundation Dhaka and Siddhartha Art Gallery, Nepal. Eminent artists from both Bangladesh and Nepal participated in the camp.
Speaking at the event, Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Nepal, said Bangladesh and Nepal share a unique relationship rooted in social, cultural and civilizational linkages.
He said both countries have a shared vision for preserving socio-cultural identities and respecting values and traditions. The theme of the festival goes with the diversity of landscapes and the confluence of cultural values, he added.
Ambassador Chowdhury hoped that the art camp would be a wonderful platform for the creation of artworks by contemporary Bangladeshi and Nepali artists and display their unique styles, perspectives and mediums, reflecting the richness of culture of the two countries, reads a statement issued by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Nepal.
The art camp coincided with a musical event organized by the Embassy to welcome the Nepali and Bengali New Year.
The artworks of the ten eminent artists will be exhibited until 10 May at the Siddhartha Art Gallery, Baber Mahal Revisited, Kathmandu.
