Kathmandu: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of petroleum products. The price of petrol has been raised by four rupees per litre, while the prices of diesel and kerosene oil have been increased by three rupees per litre, effective from 1:00 AM on July 16.
With the price hike, the cost per litre of petrol has reached Rs 168.50, and diesel and kerosene oil have reached Rs 157.50 in the Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amalekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj areas.
In Surkhet and Dang, the price of petrol will be Rs 170 per litre, while diesel and kerosene oil will be traded at Rs 159 per litre. Similarly, in Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, and Dipayal, the price of petrol will be Rs 171 per litre, and diesel and kerosene oil will be sold at Rs 160 per litre.
A meeting of the NOC Board of Directors held on Monday decided to hike the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene oil. According to the NOC, the adjustment in domestic market prices is in response to the rise in the purchase price of petrol by Rs 4.48 per litre and diesel by Rs 2.83 per litre, as per the new rates received from Indian Oil Corporation today.
