Sanfe-Martadi highway blocked

Bajura: The Sanfe-Martadi highway has been blocked due to landslides triggered by incessant rainfall over the past few days.

Bajura District Police Office Police Inspector and Information Officer Dev Chaudhary said the highway had been blocked due to landslides near Serabagar, Haddekhola, and District Jail.

As the highway was blocked, long and short-distance vehicles and cargo vehicles were stranded. Buses from Dhangadhi, Mahendranagar, and Nepalgunj have been stopped on the road after the highway was blocked.

Meanwhile, the Martadi-Kolti road connecting the northeast part of the district has remained blocked for traffic for the past five days. Police Inspector Chaudhary told the government that the road was blocked after landslides started in the Badimalika Municipality-7 district due to continuous rain.

Chief District Officer Bhimkant Paudel said only after the rain stops the landslide debris can be cleared and traffic resumes regularly.
