Kathmandu: The Ashok Rai-led Janata Samajwadi Party has withdrawn its support from the Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government as of Friday. 

Tendering their resignations to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ the ministers from the Janata Samajwadi Party informed him of their party’s decision to withdraw support. 

Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Yadav, Minister for Forest and Environment Nawal Kishor Sah Sudi, and State Minister for Health Hasina Khan submitted their resignations. 

In a new twist of political events, the two largest parties in parliament—the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML)—decided on Monday to form a new alliance, with the latter’s chair, KP Sharma Oli, set to lead the government. 

The CPN-UML withdrew its support from the government on Wednesday and requested the Prime Minister to step down from his position. Despite this, PM Dahal has decided to face a trust vote on July 12.
