President Paudel plants paddy at Sheetal Niwas

Kathmandu: A paddy plantation program was organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan Sheetal Niwas this morning on the occasion of National Paddy Day 2081.

On the occasion, President Ram Chandra Paudel along with First Lady Sabita Paudel participated in the paddy planting program organized by the Office of the President. 

“We have made a symbolical participation in the paddy transplantation to encourage the culture of respect for the agricultural profession and labor and promote paddy production, which has reduced off late,” the President said.

A dahi chiura (bitten rice with curd) eating program was also held following the paddy plantation programme. 

Asar 15 in the Lunar calendar is observed as National Paddy as well as Dahi Chiura eating day.
