Kaski: A landslide triggered by continuous rainfall claimed the lives of two individuals in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Kaski district.
The victims, 13-year-old Ayushma Ranabhat from Madi Rural Municipality and 3-year-old Anmol Sunar from Pokhara Metropolitan City, were killed when the landslide struck at approximately 2 AM.
Ayushma Ranabhat was sleeping alongside her grandmother when the landslide struck the hill behind their home. The District Police Office in Kaski confirmed that her grandmother, 70-year-old Lalmaya Banjari, was rescued unharmed.
In a separate incident, 3-year-old Anmol Sunar lost his life when a landslide buried in Arupata, Pokhara-27. Anmol’s mother, 27-year-old Ritu Sunar, sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Gandaki Medical College. Police said that Hari Sunar and his 9-year-old daughter, Anjali, were rescued safely.
