Kathmandu: Binaytara Foundation, a non-profit organization, is going to build a cancer hospital in Janakpur.

The 200-bedded hospital, Binaytara Cancer Centre, will be built in the district. The Foundation has already obtained a map pass from the government authorities for the construction of hospital holding capacity of 200 beds.

The hospital, which is going to be constructed targeting Nepal as well as India’s Uttar Pradesh, will be built in Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City-25. Since there is no cancer hospital in Madhesh province, patients travel to Uttar Pradesh in India due to a lack of quality treatment services in the province.

According to the Foundation, the hospital aims to provide world-class cancer treatment services for the citizens of southern Nepal and northern India.

The hospital building was designed by Fong & Chan Architects of America. As per the plan, the construction will start after the monsoon.

After the construction of the hospital, the foundation expects that economic activity will also increase along with the health awareness and treatment of Madhesh Province.
