PM Dahal leaves for New Delhi to attend Indian PM Modi’s swearing-in

Narendra Modi is scheduled to take oath as the Prime Minister of India for the third time today evening in the Indian capital city of New Delhi.

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has left for New Delhi today to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.

PM Dahal was bade farewell by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairperson, Narayan Dahal, Deputy Prime Ministers Raghubir Mahaseth and Narayankaji Shrestha, ministers, parliamentarians, high-ranking officials of the government of Nepal, and chiefs of security agencies. 

On the occasion, a contingent of the Nepali Army offered a guard of honor to PM Dahal, who is visiting India at the cordial invitation of Indian PM Modi.

The Prime Minister is accompanied by his daughter Ganga Dahal, Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Padam Giri, and senior officials of the government.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Modi is scheduled to take oath as the Prime Minister for the third time this evening in the Indian capital city of New Delhi. The Heads of State and Government from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Mauritius were also invited by the Indian government to attend the swearing-in ceremony, it is learnt.

PM Dahal is expected to hold a meeting with his Indian counterpart Modi today, according to the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi. PM Dahal will return home on Monday.
