NC disrupts HoR meeting

The main opposition Nepali Congress including other opposition parties disrupted the House of Representatives meeting on Monday. The HoR meeting has been postponed for 15 minutes.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is seeking a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives, the lower house of parliament, today as per the Article 100 (2) of the Constitution.

As the session of the House of Representatives started, the Congress leaders stood from their respective seats and demanded that they should be able to speak on behalf of the party. When the Speaker tried to continue with the regular House proceedings, NC leaders started raising slogans.

The main opposition has been obstructing both houses–the House of Representatives and the National Assembly–demanding Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane be investigated through a high-level parliamentary probe committee.
